My Success in Scientology

At the time I discovered Scientology, my life was an unhappy mess of drugs, frustration and aimless direction. I had tried to get off drugs before, and the only place I could think of to go for help was my old family doctor. But his solution was to put me on antidepressants, and after taking just one of those I knew instinctively that substituting one drug for another was not a correct solution. So I wandered around, looking at this and that, reading different philosophical ideas and so on, all the while remaining on street drugs. One day somebody passed me a ticket for a free personality & IQ test at a Scientology Organization and I was immediately interested to know if my IQ had changed since high school. (In high school they never did tell us our IQ and I had to sneak into the files in the office in order to find out!)

I found the whole thing rather intriguing - for here were people talking about the mind and the fundamentals of life in a way that was very understandable and that had the ring of truth - and I had a surge of hope and a feeling that I had at last discovered a way out of the drug trap.

Well I sure did, and I’m very proud to say that it’s been over 25 years since I’ve taken even so much as an aspirin! Talk about an effective drug rehab program!!
