Scientology for me has been an exercise in finding out better ways in which I could take greater charge of my own life and the assisting of others with theirs. I used to feel that man was complex and would require long hours of study before I would ever understand him. This turned out to be untrue. I don’t want you to think that I didn’t have to study, just no where near the volume I had been led to believe. My fellow man’s actions started to make sense and although I didn’t always agree with what he did I better understood the motivations behind them. It was one thing to understand my fellow man better and quite another to be able to help him. Scientology helped me to be able to help those I wanted to and put me in a position where life was something that I could be more in control of. People around me became, more and more, friends that I hadn’t yet met. They were always there, I just hadn’t always noticed them. Helping and being helped by one’s fellow man is possibly the most gratifying and long term win that I have received from Mr. Hubbard’s writings.
